Morevi is the creative moniker of the Georgian-Belgian artist duo Ana Naskidashvili and Frederik Poisquet. Inspired by nature, culture, and (Georgian) heritage, the duo specialises in handcrafted textile works. Going beyond the traditional use of tapestries for interior purposes, Morevi approaches them as their artistic medium. Each piece is unique and made by hand in their Antwerp studio.
United by a shared vision encompassing a deep connection with nature, a reverence for natural materials, an appreciation for primitive crafts, and a passion for exploring diverse cultures through travelling, Morevi dedicates themselves to creating authentic and soulful works of art. The studio was founded on a desire to reconnect with slow paced handwork and natural matter. The duo is drawn to primitive working methods because of their ability to form deeper and more meaningful connections between the materials, the land, the maker and ultimately, the owner.
Commissions and collaborations
The commission process begins with a conversation. If you are interested in a personalised project, don’t hesitate to contact us. Each commission will be conceptualised according to the context, the clients needs and the designated space. Morevi is open to collaborate with artists, designers and manufacturers. If you are interested in collaborating, feel free to get in touch.
