Morevi is the name of the collaborative artistic practice of Ana Naskidashvili (b. 1999, Georgia) and Frederik Poisquet (b. 1994, Belgium). Working primarily within the medium of textiles, their practice is rooted in a dialogue between human made foundations and the unpredictable outcomes of organic transformation.
The practice follows a meditative methodology of repetitive gestures. These rhythmic actions translate into a visual language where repetition serves as a physical extension of the making process and allows the internal logic of the material to respond to the intentionality of the human hand.
Through research and reinterpretation of traditional craft and dyeing techniques, the duo brings regionally rooted craft techniques into a contemporary framework, reworking them through experimentation and personal interpretation to generate new meaning.
